Who am I?
Hello, everyone! My name is Wyll Andersen!
I've been writing fantasy adventure stories for as long as I can remember, some good and others not-so-good. I'm glad you decided to take the time to check me out, and I hope I impress.
I’ve been writing ever since I was a wee lad; my earliest story being a retelling of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time which I wrote when I was only four or five years old. Back in 2005, I wrote my very first book called Crystal Catalyst. It involved a group of young heroes who used magical powers called "Potentials" to fight a series of evil monstrosities that threatened their world. It’s awful, and I didn't even really know what the words catalyst and potential meant, but I heard them in my 6th grade science class, thought they sounded cool, and wanted to use them. I still have the notebook I wrote it in!
However, I never really believed writing to be my passion, and instead I thought I wanted to work in the video game industry, but I didn’t really have any development skills except for what I learned in RPG Maker. It wasn’t until I discovered Percy Jackson and the Olympians in 2009 that made me realize I wanted to be a writer, and I’ve never gone back.
Over the years, I’ve written a few books and short stories, and I’ve even attempted to self-publish back in 2014 and 2016. Needless to say, it didn’t go well, and I decided to take a break from writing for a while. In that time, I’ve devoted myself to learning as much about the world of writing, marketing, self-publishing, and more all in the attempts to make 2008 me realize my goals of becoming a writer.
Since 2019, I’ve been working on my current series The Sunfire Saga, an epic fantasy adventure in a world of magic and muskets, tricorne hats and fae, gas lamps and swashbuckling, and more! You can find sample chapters in my [online library].
